Bleh....

Its been a long day, with too much work.  I got a little knitting done over lunch, but not as much as I would like.  I seem to be leaving the important projects till the last minute.  I'll post pics tomorrow of the slippers I started today, far too tired to do it now.

Knit-a-thon

I spent all of today knitting the other glove for my mum.  There's nothing more relaxing than spending a whole day knitting :)

I'm quite pleased with how they've turned out, and the colours are lovely.  They are not my normal style, but I like them quite a lot.  With it being so cold today, I half wished I'd knit them for myself!

I have also worked a little on my valentines project, the Winged Heart Tattoo, and now have both sides for the heart.  I decided today that I will in fact include the felted wings, so bought myself some Wash + Filz-it! wool.  They didn't have a white or cream colour, so I decided on a pastel turquoise colour, which I think will look quite nice.

Hello :)

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Last night I had the crazy idea to start a blog about my knitting, so here it is.  A blog about my knitting.  Enjoy.

I'll start off my getting you upto date with what I'm currently working on.  I've got a few projects on the go:
  • Gloves for my mum:

I'm using a pattern from the book Gloves by Susette Palmer called Sampler Gloves, and I'm using Sirdar Escape Wool Rich dk.  The pattern is simple to follow, and fun to knit.  I've knit one glove up so far, I'm just waiting for a free day to knit the other up (and weave in all my ends).  So far, so good.
  • Winged Heart Tattoo for my lovely boyfriend (shh its a secret....but I think he'll know now *facepalm*):

I started this last night off a whim, to keep my fingers busy.  I found the pattern on a cute little blog called Jujube & Lolo.  I'm just trying to decide right now whether to add the felted wings or not... An excuse to buy more yarn? :D

I've also got a scarf and a waistcoat on the go, but these have been on the go for a while, with sloooowwww progress.  I have the tendency to start something, then start something else before my last project is finished, although this happens more with the things that take longer to knit.  I'm impatient and like quick results.

I have a fair few projects that I want to start, and am looking forward to starting.  They can be found in my Ravelry Queue.

Also, in the not so distant, future I'm planning on writing up a few of my own patterns :)
